  • Story:Master Chad Wissler established Grasshoppers School of Aibudo in October of 1998. The school began with the same teachings and integrity that (Grasshopper) Wissler was taught by his Sensei of Aibudo. The curriculum is based on Bojuka Ryu Karate, Danzen Ryu Kodenkan Jujitsu, Chito Ryu Karate, White Crane and Praying Mantis Kung Fu, Chinese Boxing, and close combat techniques that resemble Muay Tai, and Kobudo. All instruction is given in a "Classical" Style of teaching, however the Kumite or Randori resembles that of what is now called Mixed Martial Arts. This eclectic System of Aibudo, which Means "The Martial Arts in Harmony and together with the Individual", gives several applications taught to its practitioner to find what works for their build and stature. Unlike Traditional styles that techniques are written in stone, Aibudo gives freedom from restriction. Aibudo is very effective, be it on the Street, in Competition, or in the Dojo. In the same hand, proper application is not jeopardized and does not produce watered down techniques like that of The modern day Mixed Martial Arts bandwagon. ( Boxers that can't hold their hands up and grapplers that scoot their butt across the mat like a dog with worms). Students can train as a Member and aquire Rank or train as a participant and learn Kumite and Randori skills without set requirements as well.
